Welcome to the website of the project “Landscape and Leisure”! Leisure is booming. Outdoor recreation and tourism have an impact on the landscape. This impact may be hardly noticeable, however it can be firm and unsustainable. Thus tourism and outdoor recreation pose a paradox: they may provide opportunities, but they may also pose threats. That is the reason for the Dutch Government Advisor on the Landscape to start this joint, inventory-making project that will run from  autumn  2006 till the summer of 2008. It will explore how the sectors of tourism, recreation and landscape design can cooperate to regulate the impact of leisure and tourism on the landscape.  
On this website you can find all the information about this unique project. It is meant for schools in tourism, recreation, leisure and landscape design and planning. The information ranges from registration steps to the final results we hope to achieve. The website also contains a forum where you can talk about the relation between landscape and leisure and about the project. You can post all your questions and comments. Furthermore, the website contains a virtual office, where you can share your documents with other participants.
